The film explores one of the most significant milestones of Islamic civilization in Egypt: the Tulunid era and its leader, Ahmad ibn Tulun. A visionary ruler, he sought to build a congregational mosque that would remain an 'eternal edifice,' defying the passage of time and surviving all dangers. He constructed it atop Gebel Yashkur to protect it from floods and used stone and red firebricks to make it resistant to fire. He created a timeless architectural identity through its unique spiral minaret, engaged columns, intricate stucco-decorated windows, and the 'Brides of the Sky' crenellations that adorn its walls. Known as the 'Upper Mosque,' it stands today as the oldest Islamic monument to have fully preserved its original architectural layout.
